Mesiterra: Birth of the Daemons
You come to your senses in the middle of a vast, rolling plain, under clear blue skies, and you feel the wind caress your flank. You stretch skyward, feeling sturdy and strong as your hooves stamp at the dirt. You are a centaur, humanoid from the waist up, but equine below the waist, with four strong horse legs. You rear up on your hind legs and take off across the plain, reveling in pure velocity and strength, hair and tail whipping out behind you as you run. This is what it means to be alive!
The monsterkin of the plains are the carefree and athletic centaurkin. These half humanoid / half horse hybrids typically have the upper bodies of humans, elves, or half-orcs, and lower bodies resembling a variety of different horse breeds. It isn’t unusual to hear centaurs describe each other as Arabians or Clydesdales or Andalusians, among others.
Unlike true centaurs, centaurkin are more pony-sized, rarely exceeding six feet in height. Nonetheless, a centaurkin in full armor riding hard across the plain is nothing to be trifled with.
Centaurkin Racial Traits
+2 Str, +2 Wis, -2 Dex: Centaurkin are strong and perceptive, but tend to be clumsy.
Medium: Centaurkin are medium creatures, with no bonuses or penalties based on size.
Fast Speed: Centaurkin have a base speed of 40 feet.
Darkvision: Centaurkin can see 60ft. in total darkness.
Quadruped: Centaurkin have four legs and two arms, gaining a +4 racial bonus to CMD against trip attempts.
Keen Senses: Centaurkin have a +2 bonus to perception checks performed on open plains or fields.
Natural Armor: Centaurkin are incredibly tough and resilient, and gain a natural +1 to armor class.
